People tend to be very fickle, in so many ways. What is hot in the media today, is tommorows garbage. So don't hold your breath about the WTS falling over the child abuse issue.

As I have said before, not just here recently, but in other places as well. It is important to remain balanced and the kind of person who would even consider punching somebody in the face for a perceived wrong doing, would be the kind of person I'd have swept away in my personal Armageddon. Knee-jerk, reactionary, fools. They are driven by media influence and in their own way, as bad as the BORG !

define an evil org.

i have been struggling over a decision about evil for some time.

i went from thinking the wbts uses too much old testament laws to the old gb guys were stuck in old beliefs that will change to wondering if there is an evil intent here.. this revolved not so much regarding dogma such as trinity-hell-jesus is michael etc.

then does this indicate that satan is in some way involved in these actions.. i have the same dilema when i consider the disallowing of transplants and the deaths this caused and then later allowing them with out even an apology.

Not sure about the Satan thing matey. I have no insight on such matters.

Try not to get so hung up on it all. Be nice to people & the earth, be reasonable & thoughtful where possible and keep reading and searching for knowledge and the truth.

One guy I saw on the bus the other day had about 10 rings through his lip and another 7 or so in each ear. Along with 3 in each eyebrow and a spike coming out of his chin .... needless to say he had two seats to himself on the bus. How the hell does he pass through customs with that lot? He probably had one stapling his tender member together as well ..... shiver

reading different topics, im confused as to the jw's now stance on blood transfusions.

are they now accepting it?

do they still carry the no blood card?.

Thanks for that link about blood. Its about time I had a look into this again myself. I always felt uncomfortable with that no blood ruling and its good to be up to date on internal policy ..... its the only way I can regain my own mind on matters !

I'm still pretty sure the Bible meant blood spilt and then used as part of sacrificial ritual myself.

What are your careers?

having milled around this board for a little while, and getting to know the odd poster a tad better, one (at least i do) gets to wondering what some of you do for work.... i work installing custom hardwood flooring and ceramic tiles, with the odd wc renovation, and was going to start a career last year in avionics, but our friend osama put my plans on the backburner, until (or if) the canadian industry returns to normal.

i am considering going to university to further my photography skills, and am currently (and very slowly) working on a pictorial book that i hope to be published by the time i am 95. oh, and i devote 87643 hours of service to yhwh each month.. your turn.... .

I am not personally career-minded.

I am an artist at heart and do graphic design work (freelance), but also enjoy dabbling with IT (building up PCs 'n' things). Used to work in technical support for big games company (yuk! - crappy job - as dull as dish water).

Great movie - got it on VHS somewhere.

Love the twists in the plot and Terry Gilliams wonderful direction and visual input.

Reminds me ever so slightly of Brazil the way it is shot (another class film worth seeing).

Best and worst experience in your religion?

ill tell you my best experience in my belief was being totally drunk at my mates wedding surrounded by jehovahs witnesses who were trying to talk to me even though i didnt want to talk to them (and they were the ones who ignored me at meetings lol)and all i could do is smile at them because i couldnt understand what the hell they were speaking about,and i was so happy and they were so offended because i was pis~@d.

Those are moving tales. I cannot even imagine what those experiences felt like. To be with somebody when they are dying is a noble act indeed.

I am sorry to hear about your own abusive experiences and hope the years have helped you heal in many ways.
